The artist Nelly Ruggeri was born in Bologna in 1985.Young, but almost known in the artistic scene of Bologna, she presents a new collection of masterpieces inspired by the past, by the Italian vintage cars from the 1920s.
Historical illustrations appear on the canvas, among colour strokes and the striking Lettering, which is not only used as flowery element (the real stylistic characteristic that portrays her entire artistic production) but also as a tool of telling.
Illustrations that portray the artist's great-grandfather
The famous driver from Bologna, after having competed for many years with American motorcycles such as Harley Davidson and Indian, in 1920 he passed to Formula 1 by competing for a prestigious Italian cars brand.
The artist inside her masterpieces deliberately uses original newspapers from 1917/1920, in order to evoke a real past to remember.
Family shots and memories closed from years in albums, far away advertisings resurface nowadays like old posters graffiti, whose strokes and vivid paints return vital lymph.
The images shake in the re-creation of a different perception of the future; it is fascinating because the telling receives the unknown of experiences already lived but destined to born again in a new life by trying to merge itself with our present.
